Zirconium, as a pure element, doesn’t exist in nature but it is found as oxide or as silicate.

Inside zirconia there are natural radioactive impurities that are eliminated only by purification processes. For the production of zirconia there are ISO standards that establish the degree of purity that the material must have to be considered safe for human health.

Once purified, zirconia is considered an inert material. For this reason it is important to have persons able to ensure that this purification process is carried out according to ISO standards.
